About the SSIF Award

Our future depends on today's experts medical minds therefore the Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) is looking to reward an expert who has made outstanding contributions to medical education in neurology.

The Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) is looking for candidates from medical experts who are continuing to drive medical education forward through their research and dedication in the field of neurology.

The SSIF Award highlights the importance of medical education today, and recognizes those who are contributing to broaden tomorrow's scientific horizons.

This award aims to provide a greater opportunity to share your thoughts and opinions in a stimulating environment within the neurology community.

Criteria

The criteria for candidate application cover a wide range of skills and attributes that SSIF is looking for in a potential candidate and winner of the SSIF Award.

The award committee members will assess applicants' professional dedication and leadership to Continuing Medical Education. Application criteria for the award will include:

  • Physician and/or scientist in neurology from 35 to 50 years old working in
    • degenerative demetias and/or
    • multiple sclerosis and/or
    • neurodegenerative diseases entailing movement disorders and/or
    • Parkinson’s disease
  • Five or more years of medical education services at educational live events as scientific organizer, speaker or tutor
  • Academic course teaching experience as lecturer or professor
  • Authorship: 10 best papers published in the last 10 years
  • Authorship: best books or book chapters published in the last 10 years
  • Authorship: online courses in the last 5 years

The SSIF Award

The winner of the SSIF award will receive the SSIF Award trophy, €10.000,00 (less any taxes deductible) and will become a Member of the SSIF Advisory Committee.

Applications can be made through this website between May 28th 2011 and February 20th 2012. The winner will be announced at ENS 2012 in Prague at a dedicated ceremony.
